Career Summary
For the past 36 years, Mr. Stoll’s career has focused on all aspects of real estate law, asset management, commercial real estate brokerage and management, property management and receivership. For the past 28 years, he has represented private and institutional clients in the acquisition, sale and development of commercial, multi-family, retail and industrial properties, locally and nationally. During this period, Mr. Stoll created Pacific Union Commercial Brokerage in San Francisco, served as president of several asset management companies and managing director of the largest family owned boutique commercial real estate firm in Northern California. His practice focuses specifically on investment sales and, receivership where he has served in both state and federal courts.
Starting out as a Virginia real estate lawyer in the early 70’s, Mr. Stoll relocated to San Francisco in 1975 to become general counsel for Founders Title Company (now Old Republic Title) and all of its 13 subsidiary companies. After a stint in private practice as a transactional real estate lawyer and commercial litigator, Mr. Stoll turned to commercial real estate with a focus on investment brokerage. He has been associated with small real estate firms and large firms such as CB Richard Ellis. Mr. Stoll has written and lectured for the State Bar of California in the area of receivership law. His client list includes Citibank, Bank of America, Lennar, McMorgan & Company, and various unions, the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, the San Francisco City Attorneys Office and the United States Attorneys Office.
Mr. Stoll holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor Degree from the George Washington University Law Center. He is an inactive member of the Virginia and California Bar Associations and a Founding Director of the Bay Area Chapter of the California Receivers Forum. Mr. Stoll is also a community activist with the Bayview Hunters Point senior community, where he has chaired many fundraising events, and in 2006 he was acknowledged by and received the Community Activist Award from the Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services, the Governor of California, and the Mayor of San Francisco.
