Career Summary

Over the past 25 years, in addition to assisting buyers and sellers of commercial properties, Dan Cronan has transacted some of the largest, and in a few cases, some of the more complicated leases in the Bay Area. In the office leasing arena, Dan was among the first, if not the first, in San Francisco to decide to exclusively represent tenants.

After graduating from the UC Berkeley, Dan became a copywriter with J. Walter Thompson Advertising.  In 1985, following his father’s path, he transitioned into a career in commercial real estate.  Being a native San Franciscan, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge of the Bay Area, its buildings and players.  He received his training at Coldwell Banker Commercial, after which he worked for Rubloff in San Francisco from 1986 – 1989.  At the time, Rubloff was the nation’s fifth largest, full-service real estate company.  He quickly established himself as a top producer for the commercial properties division.  Prompted by Rubloff’s decision to discontinue brokerage on the West Coast, Dan accepted the position as Managing Director for the office leasing and sales division of Pacific Union (one of the Bay Area’s largest full-service real estate companies).  In 2004, Dan was promoted to Executive Director in charge of running all of Pacific Union Commercial Brokerage (PUCB), in addition to continuing his tenant representation and sales work.  Dan was the number one salesman at PUCB for 18 out of his 20 year tenure.  In May of 2009, Dan accepted an offer to head the San Francisco office of one of the fastest growing independent commercial real estate firms on the West Coast, GVA Kidder Mathews.  At GVAKM, Dan’s focus will continue to be representing tenants with their office leasing needs, while at the same time providing assistance and guidance to his colleagues and expanding the resources and footprint of GVA Kidder Mathews throughout the United States.
